Spent a week back home in yeg. The fall colours are just 🤌.

From a cursory analysis of interviews - The truckers protest really was one of the best things for spreading btc adoption in Canada and beyond. I'm not saying the protest was a good or bad event generally, but it was certainly good from a btc adoption standpoint.

Just bought my flights for The Canadian Bitcoin Conference! I've never been to Montreal before, any reccs? Staying a few extra days to explore.

As I interview bitcoiners for my study, I've noticed that bitcoin spans age, gender, race, cultural background, political orientation, and religion. While still early in the analysis, many participants describe a shared appreciation for bitcoin as a form of sound money, despite their diverse life experiences.

Indigenous communities are often at the forefront of sovereign tech because they have long recognized the importance of data and personal sovereignty. When I voted in my nation's election, it was the first time I voted through a secure online portal rather than in person. Currently re-reading Resistance Money by Bailey, Rettler, and Warmke. Three professors arguably taking an academic risk by promoting btc. On resisting censorship they write: Censorship blocks the free flow of expression, which is usually digital today. “Most financial transactions occur as glorified digital messages. As expressions, they too, can be censored. By blocking people from “speaking” freely in the financial world, authorities impede the free flow of value. I am excited to begin using Nostr as my primary social media platform for all things bitcoin. I began studying bitcoin and blockchain as a master's student at SFU in Vancouver in 2017 and have not stopped since. For my PhD dissertation, I am investigating bitcoin discourse, adoption, and use cases in the context of its increasing popularity and mainstream acceptance. I have interviewed some incredibly intelligent, hardworking, and fascinating people in the space and I am excited to eventually share my findings with fellow bitcoiners.
