I am one of the fortunate people in my country who, if I add up all the taxes I pay, has had around 70% of my income taken by the state. For every €100 net that I pay for something, I first had to earn €333.33. €233.33 goes to the state and €100 to the producer, without even taking into account that the producer then pays taxes again. This is an absolute absurdity, the European Union is an absolute absurdity, and my living conditions get worse every day, and I certainly can't afford many luxuries. How am I supposed not to hate the state? How am I supposed not to hate democracy?

The axiom should be simple and easy. I work to earn money, and I manage my own money. Having a third party manage my money never ends well, because that person has neither suffered nor worked hard to earn that money, and therefore does not value it and, at best, wastes it or, at worst, steals it. This is statism. You can spin it however you like, but one thing is certain: your money will end up being wasted and stolen.

The French Revolution did not invent the oppressive state; it transformed the monarchical state into a national state and legitimized its power in the name of the people, which made it possible to both expand and justify new forms of domination. View quoted note →

Before the French Revolution, the state and the homeland were two distinct things. The homeland was your land, your family, your animals, your customs. The state was the king. The French Revolution maliciously merged the homeland and the state, leading people to believe they are the same thing, and leading people to believe that if you are against the state, you are unpatriotic. The French Revolution is the cradle of statism and one of the worst movements for human freedom. Ironically, they sell it to you as the opposite.

Medium-term forecasts: In Europe, the digital ID will be approved for accessing social media; Nostr will remain a niche technology. In Europe, the digital euro will be approved; Bitcoin will remain a niche technology. Europe was stupid before these changes and will remain stupid after them; stupidity, like energy, is neither created nor destroyed—it is only transformed.

I'm a Layer 1 purist, but only out of self-preservation. It makes sense—you don't want anyone messing with Bitcoin. The funny thing is the Lightning purists who only see attacks in any other type of protocol—like sidechains, Ark, or Spark—but turn a blind eye to attacks on L1.
