GM Nostr friends. Pour half of a protein shake over a half cup of oats and add in a cup of frozen blueberries = breakfast! (Also coffee, but that's separate.) I've been noticing silver strands starting in my hair the last year or so. Hard to believe I'm (approaching) middle aged. Seems like my 20s were just yesterday. Still, wouldn't go back. So much life and learning has happened since then. End of this month is my birthday. I've always loved June. My parents made it feel extra special when I was a kid. This will be my first birthday with both of them gone now. Well anyway, enough mauldin thoughts. The birds are chirping praise to our Creator, the sun is shining, Lu is on the mend (it's a respiratory infection of a different flavor - not kennel cough as we expected), and my coffee is cold and delicious. @beejay I got my fresh batch of jerky, and I am obsessed with the curry fire flavor. Ate a whole pack in one sitting, and tempted to go back for more. You somehow condensed the perfect smell/scent combo of my favorite Indian restaurant into a strip of meat. 😵🤯

GM Nostr friends. I decided to make a dirty chai for my morning caffeine today (just loose leaf chai in with my coffee in a pour over situation). So far, delicious. Would recommend. Yesterday was just a super down in the dumps day for me. I can't even begin to explain all the dark thoughts that just dragged me down until Hubby came home. We ended up sitting on the patio for a bit while I just cried with Lu in my lap as he coaxed me to tell him my thoughts. Just saying them out loud got me to realize how silly they were, and he was a total sweetheart listening and reminding me that everything I was saying negative about myself wasn't true. Ended up having a much better evening after that. He is my heart.

GM Nostr friends. Pretty quiet weekend. Hubby and I did a lot of cleaning and organizing in the house. It was much needed. My desk was particularly disgusting. When did I become a cave troll? Almost surprised I didn't find any bones along with all the crumbs, hairs, and other miscellaneous gunk. Bleh. Happy Monday!

GM Nostr friends. It is Sunday. Hubby and I had a nice night away. Saturday was just getting things done around the house before meeting up with his family for our belated Easter celebration. Our nieces handed out kitty and unicorn stickers everywhere, courtesy of Hubby's sister. I watched our teenage nephew eat a mini bundy cake directly off the plate like he was in a hands-free pie eating contest. 🤢😆 Overall a good time, despite it starting to pour about an hour into it. (We were inside anyway.) Today we're hoping to get a few hours of work in at his mom's house before picking Lu up from doggy daycare at noon. I missed her very much, but it was so good to have the time away. Enjoy your day, all.

GM Nostr friends! It's Friiiiiiiiday. Good Friday, that is. Blessings to my fellow Christians out there as we head into this sad but wonderful blessing of a day and weekend. Easter is my favorite holiday. Nothing much going on today. Went to campus yesterday for a retirement party for my old boss, and another woman who helped me out a lot over the years. Good cake, and got to see a lot of people I hadn't seen in a long time. It was a good day. Have a good one, all.

GM Nostr friends! Sipping my plain (bland, boring, acidic k-cup) coffee this morning for Day 3 of my new Intermittent Fasting process. Made it 18 hours yesterday, hoping to get to 20:4 for my ratio and just see how I feel. So far, it's been pretty good. I feel energetic and once the hunger pains go away, it's not hard at all. We'll see if I stick with it long-term. I do love breakfast. Other than that, it's Friiiiiiiiday! Hubby purchased the audiobook of Project Hail Mary some time ago, so I'm listening to it now. Pretty dang great story so far. Lots of humor, and even if I don't follow most of the science-y stuff, it's still very well written. Hopefully I can finish it while the movie is still in theaters! GM Nostr friends. Bit headachy and general achy this morning. Didn't sleep well. I hate nights like that. My weight loss shot has me feeling kind of pukey this morning, to the point that coffee doesn't sound good. 😢 I still need caffeine though, and thankfully had a bottle of kombucha in the fridge. Watching our 'other' church online before we head out to our church in about half an hour. I have a sweet pup lying on my lap snoring softly. There's so special about having the love/loyalty of an animal.🥰

GA Nostr friends. What do we think, Nostriches? I've begun to hate my Umbrel device that Hubby was so kind to buy me a few months ago. It works for a few days, but then ultimately manages to freeze up our entire network until it's disconnected the router has been rebooted. @Oshi recommended Start9, which I did have installed an on old desktop for a while, but was kinda meh about because it didn't offer as many apps as Umbrel. Now I'm wondering about backing up all my movies and other files, and possibly repurposing the Umbrel as a Start9 device. Any thoughts? Is this just a terrible idea?
