Absolutely hate this. While I make my own Caesar dressing, I have a bottle of Primal Kitchen just in case, and I switched to Chosen brand mayo a year ago. Also occasionally bought Kettle avocado oil chips. I mostly cook with tallow, but it just sucks to have spent more money on products that turned out to be scams. Any mayo recipes y’all like? image

Chicken bone broth on the way A little full, yes. I roasted the bones this time so we’ll see how that goes. I started making broth last winter. Last batch was way too diluted with water, so I have a lot more bones and just tried to cover them this time. Will push to fully submerge when veggies underneath collapse a bit. image

Nostr friends, my phone has been on the fritz since Sunday, so I’ve not been on twitter or elsewhere as the Coldcard story has unfolded. Does anyone have recommendations for sites that give an overview of what happened and are keeping up with ongoing coin counts and what not? Or brief video recap? I want to show something to set the stage at Cincinnati Bitcoin tomorrow before we talk

Cincinnati Bitcoin Meetup Open Roundtable: What Happened with Coldcard? Wednesday, Aug. 5, 6:30 p.m. With the recent Coldcard wallet exploit that allowed attackers to recreate wallet recovery phrases and steal Bitcoin from what users believed were securely self-custodied wallets, we're pivoting this session to an open roundtable on the news. We’ll give a short overview of what happened, share a few key security considerations, and leave most of the time for questions and group discussion. Since this is still developing, the focus will be on learning together, comparing notes, and thinking carefully about best practices. image

@jack mallers you should have Rick Rubin on the show. I remember your episode on his podcast and enjoyed it a lot

I don’t know much about Maple AI, but in the few times I’ve used it it’s pretty awful. Not sure if it’s the model or what, but it seems to be pretty cucked frequently

Tried 30-second flips for the cast iron cook tonight on this ribeye. Crust was not great, but turned out perfectly medium rare. My thermometer has a tough time on things like steak, so was kind of guessing. But best steak I’ve cooked at home. I’ve sworn off Kroger steak because it’s almost always lousy, although I usually get it on sale. This was on sale through delivery but an individually wrapped one. Was a very good cut. Right now I eat steak maybe once a month. One day I hope to eat a butcher steak every night for dinner. Preferably with a goth baddie. Fingers crossed. image

I just spent time posting Cincinnati Bitcoin meetups on @Local Bitcoiners' website and then learning about other nostr clients it posted to. To be honest, very unfamiliar with nostr the protocol. What does a non-technical guy need to know, or where can he go or learn?

I am in the training process to be a deacon at my church. This spring was a college-level theology class going through the Reformed tradition, our church philosophy, and Presbyterian governance. We’ve had a little independent work this summer before an exam next month and then interviews with elders. They might kick me out if this gets out, but I’ve usually not been the biggest fan of Tim Keller’s writing. This however, was very, very well done. Every time I had a question, I’d find it was the subject of the next chapter. image

Friend just gave me 20-25 pounds of beef fat! I believe mostly kidney fat. I want to make soap and balm next. Anyone have any tips? @SoapMiner
