The core flaw of #libertarianism isn't its vision, but how it tries to get there. A "top-down" political strategy–voting–is ill-suited. Libertarianism truly hinges on self-regulation, NOT MERELY LESS GOVERNMENT. Without mature private entities to step in, non-interventionism in foreign policy in a world that Putin and Bin Laden live is not an ideal. That's why a libertarian shouldn't engage in favor of any politician. #grownostr

Contrary to what many libertarians believe, there is such a thing as "regulation" in an Ancap society—it's just way more efficient and market-driven than government regulation. It’s not like anyone can just keep a nuclear bomb in their mom's basement. because no insurance company would cover that! On the other hand, some weapons are only used for defense, so insurance companies would charge much lower premiums for people owning those. #grownostr #Ancap

Last week I read "Chaos Theory" by Bob Murphy, which has two essays: "Private Law" and "Private Defense." The first one is super convincing—like, it could even turn a fair-minded commie into an Ancap! The second essay is good but not as strong; I think it struggles with the Free Riding problem. It would’ve been more compelling if Bob had framed it like, "Imagine there are ten thousand Liechtensteins in Europe," and then brought in private armies and insurance companies to avoid geographical free riding. Still, I definitely recommend reading it. Check it out here: https://cdn.mises.org/Chaos%20Theory_2.pdf #grownostr #ancap #libertarianism

So called Economists in academia try to understand complex systems by looking at their outputs and guessing patterns—foolish, arrogant, or both! Engineers, on the other hand, analyze complex systems by studying their smallest active parts and building up from there. That’s why more engineers should read #Mises. He was the first to truly grasp that human society is a complex system and must be studied like one—by understanding human action first and building logical conclusions from the ground up! Ironically, economists don’t actually analyze data to find the truth. They start with their favorite policy (leftist education, right-wing tariffs, etc.) and then torture the data to fit their agenda. That’s why they can’t agree on anything! View quoted note → And to those who argue that it's not politically feasible for institutions—of any kind—to operate under such a protocol, I simply ask: then why the hell do we all despise the idea of a world government? Position of each state toward any other state/states is another often ignored example of #anarchy #grownostr

When people say #anarchy has never existed in human history, they often define it poorly. Anarchy is not a political system, a society, or a geographical entity—it’s a #protocol by which human beings interact without unjustified force. You should look for it everywhere, and you’ll easily find it! Just consider how music has evolved, how foods and recipes have been created, how mathematics has advanced through individual contributions, or even the history of #Bitcoin 's whitepaper. These are all examples of anarchy—voluntary, self-regulated, and decentralized coordination. Anarchy has existed in nearly everything we enjoy! #grownostr

View quoted note → Yet, in his great piece The Betrayal of the American Right, Rothbard goes beyond merely condemning U.S. foreign policy—he SOLELY blames the U.S. and even exonerates the Soviets for their crimes during the Cold War! And I'm like come on Murray, Be open minded but not so much that I quote from his book: "... the United States (with the aid of Britain) was solely responsible for the Cold War, in a continuing harassment and aggression against a Soviet Union whose foreign policy had been almost pathetic in its yearning for peace with the West at virtually any price." #grownostr #libertarianism #history #rothbard

View quoted note → And partly they’re right: Stillman’s argument for international hegemony and interventions has been to protect American businesses operating abroad. But one might ask, why not hire private armies to do that? It's not about defending a country's borders; it's about having the right to protect a business abroad. Private armies would likely have been more peace-driven, as they had no incentive to conquer for political reasons, and they would have been much more efficient.

#Mises despised the Nazis more than any other state, Ayn #Rand loathed the Russian commies the most, so I suppose it makes sense that #Rothbard and Rothbardians would blame the U.S. for nearly every major and minor international conflict throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.

I completely understand if an American says, "Fuck you, it's my money." I respect that, and honestly, I'd probably say the same under similar circumstances. What truly disgusts me, though, is seeing people bending over for that Russian son of a bitch. Have you ever stopped to think about what kind of animal you become when you support him? And please, stop with your stupid "I'm not supporting him, I'm supporting the U.S.A."—as if you couldn’t support your country without kissing the murderer’s ass. Screw whatever the Mises Institute says. Believe me, this war has nothing to do with NATO moving eastward. Was NATO moving eastward in Syria when Putin was bombing the shit out of children? Was he protecting them from NATO then? Putin has killed and destroyed more than Hitler ever could have if he had lived past 1945.
