This bill is a Trojan horse to bootstrap stablecoins into the banking system. In a few years everyone will unknowingly be holding and spending digital dollars with all of the features of a CBDC, and the government and central bank didn't have to build any of it, they just control the regulatory levers. They realized these companies were already building the rails for them and all they have to do is capture them with regulation and give the approved ones a green light into the financial system. Bip-110 is grassroots. The direction of Core is endorsed by corporate suits and shitcoiners. It's up to you who you want to associate with, but I don't care for the nihilistic rhetoric coming from the Core supporters. The people against them are acting with conviction in their principles. I'm sticking with the bitcoiners who are still passionate about the original mission rather than the ones who show ambivalence towards corporate capture and mission drift.
Just discovered the auto-unlock setting in Alby Hub. Very convenient not having to log into the web panel to unlock it every time it gets restarted because I updated docker.
The anti-bip110 activists are hoping for solidarity among the large miners in that they all ignore bip-110, but mining is highly competitive and soft forks are an opportunity for large miners to fuck each other. It will be interesting to see how the mandatory signaling period plays out and what happens in the weeks after. View quoted note →
Tough times for channel operators. They'd best just take a beat and wait to see how it all shakes out. Then they can decide which fork they want to be on. Doesn't matter much for me on my one channel with pocket change liquidity on it but some of these guys are carrying serious risk. View quoted note →
This gives me an idea but it might cause some serious relay bloat. There's probably a more elegant solution that I'm not aware of. I'll have to do some research. View quoted note →
GM nostr! I'm always so early in saying don't trust so-and-so and then I get so much push back... And I'm like, alright, I'll just shut my damn mouth and keep my thoughts to myself until all you fucks realize I'm right... There's still a lot of you all up on Michael Saylor's dick as well, just saying... View quoted note →
I love when I give ChatGPT some files and instructions and watch it work away for almost 30 minutes on my prompt. In my head I picture rows and rows of GPUs running red hot somewhere to deliver in 30 minutes what would be a week's worth of work for me. All for a $20/month subscription. I don't think OpenAI is making any money off of me with as much compute time as I put on their model. 🤣
