"A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight."
Trying to figure out what the heck kind of connector is on this Meshtastic when I find this gem:
"Wi-Fi equipment manufacturers have widely used RP-SMA connectors to comply with specific national regulations, such as those from the FCC, which are designed to prevent consumers from connecting antennas that provide additional gain and therefore breach Part 15 compliance. However, by 2000, the FCC regarded the connectors as readily available, though delaying its ruling indefinitely. As of 2018, leading manufacturers such as Netgear and Linksys are still using RP-SMA connectors on their Wi-Fi equipment."
The radio industry definitely doesn't have enough antenna connector types. We should try to double it to say, 300 million 🤡

Is there anything better to stress test a phone's WiFi connection than a podcast?
What bitrate are these guys using anyway, 768kbps?
Who's the bigger liar, a politician or the WiFi signal strength icon on a phone?
On-chain fee estimates don't seem very accurate. Wallet said 3 sat/vB was high, I bumped it to 4, and still waiting for a confirmation 40 minutes later...
Thank God for Lightning 🤦♀️
Someone combine a Bitaxe with a not hideous table lamp so I can get the wife to buy one for every room 🤣

As long as my paycheck is a fixed quantity of fiat, not sure it makes much sense to buy goods or services priced in a fixed quantity of sats.
Sure, the long game is get paid a fixed quantity of sats but until you reach that goal, you're just paying an ever increasing price for the same good or service.
I thought "everything" is supposed to fall in Bitcoin terms, not just the purchasing power of my paycheck.
When you stop and think about it, it seems like an insult to UK taxpayers that the MoD would even employ the kind of people who need reminders like these. Then again, if it's prioritizing 'carbon footprint' over its primary mission, the very MoD itself starts to seem like an insult to taxpayers.

That's better than my initial thought of get someone to invent a set of wireless USB-C dongles 🤣
Reminds me of an interesting story I heard the other day from a friend who works in local government.
Her office normally takes all outgoing mail to the city building where it gets weighed and the postage gets printed onto each envelope. However, the city building was closed this past election day, so she had to take the mail and the agency credit card to the local post office instead.
Apparently the local post office doesn't have one of those fancy gadgets like the city building has, so she literally had to buy 71 stamps and affix them to 71 envelopes before the postal worker would accept them.
This gave me the opportunity to ask if she'd ever heard of a guy named Lysander Spooner 🤣

NGL if updating the firmware on a Bitaxe was as confusing as flashing this Wio Tracker, my Supra would probably still be running whatever it originally shipped with.
Thought for sure I'd bricked this thing because the video I watched wasn't very clear that you need to transfer one file to the device to erase the old firmware and a separate file to install the new firmware, and if you're doing all of this on a Mac, it scares the hell out of you with error messages.

Crazy how changing the angle of the antenna negatively affects SWR.
Guessing that this adjustability was intended to be a relief point to reduce the chance of damaging the antenna base or 3D-printed case.
Wonder if this also applies to the antennas on a WiFi router because a lot of those have 90 degree adjustable antennas.
