Cold enough this morning to fire up the Avalon Nano. The miner itself started fine but the app struggled both to find it and maintain connection to it a few minutes later. Public Pool did confirm that it's hashing even when the app couldn't find it. You can type the displayed IP address on the miner into a browser but all that does is display a QR code for you to scan with the app. AxeOS web interface is definitely the better experience for beginners. Unfortunately, it seems like the Bitaxe community is focused more on efficiency so if USD-per-watt initial investment cost is your main concern, the Avalon wins. I don't think it's currently possible to get 131W of heat from a collection of Bitaxes for anywhere close to the price of the Avalon Nano.

I don't think anyone questions that Trump wants the area controlled by its residents. The question is which people does Trump envision living there? We've heard everything from returning Palestinians, to Israeli settlers, to employees of corporations who plan to turn it all into some sort of resort/tourist trap. It's kind of frightening to think transaction fees will be the only effective spam deterrent. How are plebs supposed to compete for block space against people who can just print dollars to buy sats?
