Plum blossoms are blooming! Here’s my plum blossom bowl. I didn’t throw this; I rescued the bowl from the trash and glazed it. My signature on the bottom came out really faint… Kinda hoped the “polka dots” inside might run more, but everyone at the studio says they’re cheerful and cute 😊 The outside, on the other hand, came out almost exactly as planned 😁 really love the interactions between these glazes and their weathered, faded look, kind of like old photographs. #pottery #ceramics #glaze #flowerstr #art #artstr #handmade #grownostr

One of the most inspiring verses of the Bible to me is Zechariah 4:10. It’s sweet to know that God rejoices in the very process of our work. Even if we’re focused on a seemingly unattainable end goal and staggering under that weight, He rejoices just to see us pick up the tools in our hands for the first time. This ties in with so many thoughts that have been on my mind the past several years — that humankind was created to DO things, for joyful work; that we aren’t just one unchanging thing, but that God loves us at all stages of the people we’re continually becoming; the timelessness of God, for whom “a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a day,” whose eye sees the universe and the quark, the sparrows and the depths of every soul.
