This is all the work of individuals around the world empowering themselves by running nodes, opening channels, and building the peer-to-peer #Nostr circular economy.

We started in January 2023 as an experiment to find all the noderunners and would-be noderunners on #Nostr, and give them a place to learn and connect.

If this can accomplish the goal of becoming a true Telegram replacement, the Nodestrich group will adopt it. We always wanted our group to be Nostr-only, but the tools to communicate effectively as a group didn’t exist at the time.

Why don’t we use #Nostr or #SimpleX for this? Great question, we get this frequently. The answer is that this is still the easiest way to handle real-time group chats. Hopefully, native tools will be built that allow us to eliminate centralized services, but for now, it’s still early.
