So you mean to tell me that I can make a post on nostr which can be directly perceived to be valuable by any person in the world who sees it and this post ALSO acts as a direct payment routing system for the near instant exchange of money? ... no middle man? No one taking a cut? Peer-to-peer? This is what I mean when I say people have no idea how good we got it here on nostr when comparing it to legacy social media platforms. WHO ELSE IS DOING THIS. C'mon. It's absolute insanity in the best way. It just floors me every time I really think about it. WHY ON GODS GOOD EARTH would you subject yourself to legacy social media after becoming aware of what it is made of.

This last winter, I traveled to Costa Rica for the first time in my life. I found myself on the Pacific Coast in a small town called Santa Teresa where I met the man himself, Tomas Ritche. During my time in Santa Teresa, I was able to meet many of the people and organizations within Tom's influence. The Santa Teresa Lifeguards is one of those organizations I was able to see first hand and hear stories about. The lifeguards of Santa Teresa are real people serving a real community. It's by the people for the people. I'm mentioning them in this post in particular because of the recent release of a film about them called 'THE COAST WE GUARD'. It's a touching film about the origins and story of this wonderful group that exists to be in service of all people on the coast of Santa Teresa. For anyone interested, I highly recommend giving this film a watch and please consider spreading the message and gifting something to the organization if you have capacity. May we recollect our humanity in these times of social unrest, community uprooting and political divide... let's remember, let's come back to earth, let's support our local people and our local places. Let's pay respect to those who serve the people in a good way. The Santa Teresa Lifeguards are good people, serving the community in a good way. Now I'm learning about relays a little bit... definitely interesting. Can anyone create a relay? Would one maybe create a relay for a certain geographic locality? Could it be private/invite only? So much to learn.

Life Update | June 2026 | Bitcoin and Nostr It is strikingly clear to me what is occurring as the unfolding digital reality appears before us. At this point in time, bitcoin seems to be the strongest digital currency and nostr the strongest digital social platform. I had to learn many things about many things in order for this realization to become apparent to me. I do not subscribe to any legacy social media platforms... I use nostr exclusively right now. When I use fiat money, I use cash wherever possible. It is the coolest thing in the world to sign up for nostr on a client and instantly have the ability to receive bitcoin.... WOW. C'mon, it's incredible. My recent travels to Costa Rica opened up my eyes to the potential this form of currency can unlock for the people. To see the farmers markets and merchants accepting bitcoin was eye-opening. The people's sovereign digital cash! Man, what a cool thing. And to know that it's constantly developing in a decentralized fashion is assuring. My whole being feels much better since firmly deciding not to ever get back on legacy social media, so long as it is corrupt as it is now at the time of this post. Using cash when I use fiat money also is an empowering move that anyone can take when possible. Our economic lives are shifting, we get to choose how it evolves.
