💣 Ephemeral Message Teaser
Commonly referred to as:
"Self-Destructing"
"Disappearing"
"Vanquishing"
"Ephemeral"
Messages that auto-delete once a set time interval passes (Ex: 10 seconds, 1 minute, 1 day).
We've had this feature planned since the beginning, but it just took some time to implement due to the long backlog of other features. We will be releasing the first iteration in v0.4.1 soon™ (can already test on the v0.4.1 Pre-Release on GitHub). Thanks to everyone who suggested this nice privacy feature, you will be able to use it soon. If you have any feedback or suggestions to further improve it, like other time intervals, just let us know!
Stay tuned for much more to follow in the v0.4.1 release...

🟩 Feature Highlight: Multi-Account
Profile > Dropdown > Switch or Add Account
This one of the most requested features for the last release and we are happy to finally be able to deliver. Switching between accounts made easy since the release of v0.4.0 with a few clicks.
We're not sure how many users (on average) use multiple accounts, but we do want to accommodate purely from a privacy standpoint as well as for high-level customization. Many people use different aliases or pseudonyms, but still would like to have a personal account for close friends and family or one just for work/business as well.
Use Vector to best fit your needs and customize how you want.

Recently brought to our attention, a lot people are concerned about testing out newer apps in the "Age of AI" and rightfully concerned about vibe-coded apps... their true levels of privacy, security, and reliability.
With that said, we took time to add to our GitBook docs a page on AI Usage & Transparency that covers how we address AI and its relevance in Vector's development.
⚠️ Zero Blind Commits Policy
Every single pull request and commit on GitHub is manually reviewed by the founder and senior developer. Not a single commit or contribution, regardless of whether AI was involved in writing it, has ever been pushed without review by the senior developer and other team members. AI is not perfect, and neither are human developers, but peer review is a crucial part of quality control and the foundational reason why open-source technology is often more trustworthy and resilient in practice.
We also go deeper into our workflow, where and how AI is utilized with full transparency into our development process.

GitBook serves as our real introduction to Vector for newcomers, whether for your average person or developers, though it probably doesn't need to be said, but devs can always go straight to GitHub.
