It's kinda neat that an npub can double as an on-chain address. BUT, for an app that I may or may not have ever even used to present my profile with a button for sending me on-chain zaps - as if it's one of my preferred methods for receiving payments - is a pretty crap design, IMO. For those who may be wondering: "why hasn't #strategy raised the dividend rate of #strc, yet, to at least try to get it back to its $100 par?" The answer is, according to their SEC filed framework for raising the rate, expecting them to do so before the end of the month would be premature. My expectation is that this coming week, they will announce a 50 bps rate increase (to 12% annually) to take effect for the July 15 record date. Will this get it back to par anytime soon? ๐Ÿคท If not, I would again expect this framework to be applied at the end of July... but it's important to note, that Strategy does retain the option to *effectively* rug strc holders at any time (I just don't think it's in their best interest to do so anywhere near the current conditions). * I'm in no way invested in Strategy or any of its products. * this is not financial advice. https://assets.contentstack.io/v3/assets/bltf8d808d9b8cebd37/bltc834c942bcce5b86/68b04f59abe610dae8156bce/form-8-k_08-28-2025.pdf image
My base case (by far) is that #BTC starts going up again, and #Strategy continues to be fine (indeed thrives) for the foreseeable future. If, however, BTC stays too low and/or goes much lower for a long enough time, the first real crack in the armor will be the first missed dividend payment... in #STRD... because that's obviously the buffer that STRD was built to be (nevertheless, people will freak out that Strategy missed a dividend payment. If stress then persists even further, Strategy will eventually make the decision to permanently suspend dividend payments on #STRC... but only after systematically lowering the dividend rate as quickly as possible as low as it will go - because (as I understand it) once dividend payments are suspended, the rate is frozen, and those dividends will continue to accumulate on paper potentially forever. In this latter case, a substantial amount of BTC is likely to be sold while navigating these troubled waters; but there's no way Strategy sells anywhere near all of their BTC just to be able to pay STRC dividends that they have complete discretion to suspend indefinitely at any time for any reason. Anyway, that's how I see it. Full disclosure: I have no intention of ever getting anywhere near any of these fiat games myself. * this is not financial advice. ๐Ÿ˜‰
Unsurprisingly, it looks like the the closing bell has has shut down Wall Street's shenanigans for the day, spurring on a modest after hours pump. Until next time, 58K...
