I can't express how incredible it is that #nostr exists. I'm lucky I don't live in a country which bans speech, although I'm exposed frequently to people from other countries where free speech is not an option and punishment for it is severe. I'm thankful to everyone whose contributed to making nostr what it is and continued improvement. Thank you to developers like @fiatjaf and @PABLOF7z and investors like @jack and @ODELL (I know there are many more devs and investors I'm missing out) and people helping out like @DarthCoin ₿⚡️ and @HODL . People will slowly discover nostr and realize what a powerful tool this is. Combined with bitcoin, the pair are truly unstoppable. I think 5-10 years and nostr will be the norm, they might not even know they're using it because it's the base layer of some popular application on the app store. Looking forward to it. As crazy as this sounds, Bitcoin at $100K can feel less expensive than btc 20K-90K. It’s all mind games but if you ignore everything after the thousands separator $100K becomes $100. $104K becomes $104. $475K will be $475. At a million it gets cheaper and you ignore everything past the millions separator and $2M becomes just $2 lol. Obviously it’s not actually cheaper but it’s easier for some to digest. A strategic reserve should be for scarce and critical assets like oil and gold. Commodities which can help the nation in case of an emergency. @npub15xqg...9rv7 proposed the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR), this makes sense as bitcoin has properties worthy of being in a strategic reserve but including other digital assets seems like a way for some projects to profit from the proposed bill. What’s best for the USA (and the world) is the SBR, not a crypto stockpile. If it’s crypto stockpile or nothing, I rather have nothing. Why? He argues that he set up a website which enabled others to sell drugs and those drug dealers are already free while Ross remains in prison. To play devil’s advocate, you could argue that the website enabled thousands of illegal transactions - including, as some allege, listings for murder-for-hire. If true, the punishment might fit, given the site's total reach. I’m genuinely curious because I don’t know enough about Ross or his case. I’ve seen many calling for his release (#FreeRoss) and would love to understand their perspective. Personally, I think Ross has served enough time. Double life plus 40 years is excessive for a young person who launched a website and got in over their head. At the same time, I see the potential real-world harm the site may have caused, especially if murder-for-hire claims are true. If it were me, I’d hope for the benefit of the doubt and a chance to prove I’ve learned from my mistakes. Most things don’t require a deep dive. I don’t even think you need to read or listen to an entire book to understand the subject. There are a bunch of ways to get the basic concept of anything. A short YouTube video, ChatGPT summary of a book/article/study, a podcast, etc. A few short paragraphs, sometimes even just one paragraph is usually all you need to understand the basics. Want to be an expert in a field? Sure, dive in. But most people definitely get the most value by just digesting a few short summaries of the topic and actually use the extra time to put those ideas into practice. A great example is the book “Influence” by Robert Cialdini. I read and listened to the book and then heard a clip of a podcast he was on where he explained the 7 principles in 7 minutes or less.
