SATURDAY SHARE!!! Every Saturday we round up the photographers of the #nostr community to come together once per week to share our work from the past week, or just all time favorites. Always a great time to find someone new to be inspired by. Q: If you could live a different life, what would you imagine yourself doing instead of what you're doing now? Submission by Ricky Lorenzo: "I've been shooting photographs since I was 16 years old using my great uncle's Canon AE1, which he bought in Korea when he was in the army. When I started shooting, I definitely had no idea what I was looking for. I took out a bunch of photobooks from the library and nothing really caught my eye. Seemed boring, but then a friend showed me William Eggleston and it changed my entire perspective. At 36, I'm still learning, but it has been fun seeing my vision change from then to now. As an aging person with depression, I tend to look for the beauty and humor in every day encounters. This series of photos are a batch of my favorites from the last couple of years. I like to joke that I travel alot and visit many places and these are the types of photos I typically come home with from my trip. My parents and friends don't understand, but I'm not looking for the same things they are. I'm more interested in the way light hits an overfilled garbage in Times Square than I am the people I'm surrounded by". #noicemag #photography

Photography submission by Luana Rigolli: "I was born in Piacenza, Italy, in 1983. Now I live in Rome. I studied Civil Engineering, but at the end of it I realized that I would prefer to tell what was around me, rather than to modify it with works of engineering. So I started to photograph stories with a particular focus on historical research and the interaction of man and landscape. Linosa is an island just 5.5 square kilometers large, located 160 km from Sicily and 145 km from Tunisia. It can be only reached by sea in 8 hours ferry from the town of Porto Empedocle in Sicily. Alternatively it can be reached from the neighbor island of Lampedusa, with a 2 hours ferry. No doubt it is the “most isolated island of Italy”. I realized that the young people of the island live their community with a continuous sense of split personality: on one hand they want to move away to live a normal life, on the other hand they strongly want to remain there to keep their relations with family, love, life. The school on the island is provided only to children up to 13 years old. Teenagers move to Sicily and come back to their family for Christmas, in a neverending unintentional Erasmus program". #noicemag #photography

Photography by Søren Solkær: This project has taken me back to the landscape of my childhood and youth in the marshlands of Southern Denmark. A place where as many as one million starlings gather in the spring and fall, prior to onwards migration, and set the stage for one of nature’s most spectacular phenomena. As the countless birds congregate in large murmurations before collectively settling in the reeds at dusk they put on an incredible show of collaboration and performance skills. And now and then, by the added drama of attacking birds of prey, the flock will unfold a breathtaking and veritable ballet of life or death. The starlings move as one unified organism that vigorously opposes any outside threat. A strong visual expression is created – like that of an ink drawing or a calligraphic brush stroke – asserting itself against the sky. Shapes and black lines of condensation form within the swarm, resembling waves of interference or mathematical abstractions written across the horizon. At times the flock seems to possess the cohesive power of super fluids, changing shape in an endless flux: From geometric to organic, from solid to fluid, from matter to ethereal, from reality to dream – an exchange in which real time ceases to exist and mythical time pervades. This is the moment I have attempted to capture – a fragment of eternity. #noicemag #photography

Photography by Francesco Fantini: I am an Italian photographer based in London. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, with a MA in Photography. Then, I moved to the UK in 2014, where I currently live, work and do daily research. I am very curious person, and photography is one of the tools that help me to feed this thirst. In this journey I decided to shoot mainly 35/120 mm films, especially for my research and documentary photography. I'm now working on the «33» project, a journey through the 32+1 Greater London boroughs, to observe and hopefully understand the vast territory that forms The Greater London perimeter. #noicemag #photography
