Every so often you get this question of who will pay for the relays... Since VPN's marketed their stuff based on bullshit claims about privacy and safety, and managed to get people to pay for a geo-proxy and a worse experience... What bullshit narative could paid relay providers come up with? @The Fishcake (nostr.build) , does nostr.build have electrolites? I think you should tell people it has electrolites.

I already sort of knew this, but the robot's production of the TEPP stuff was stupidely inefficient. I decided to just bite the bullet and grind through it with time and more subscriptions, because what was being build would be the foundation. I'd rather suffer the inefficiency than risk cutting corners. Now that is done, and i am starting to build on top of that foundation, i decided to have a look at where what all these inefficiencies were....hahah absolute horror. Not building slop is rough.

Perhaps one of the more difficult things to communicate (verbally), and getting to a point where someone experiences it for himself such that the point gets across and an intuition starts to build, its the matter of ''perspective'' irt Nostr. This is because, among other stuff, Nostr changes two things, compared to the legacy platforms and two variables makes for complex systems. With Nostr, both WHAT you look at, as well as HOW it gets presented to you, is completely flexible, whereas on platforms, mostly these two things are extremely rigid. The rigidity has a reason, which is the 'purpose'. The content and the presentation of that content go hand in hand in order of an ''app'' to communicate to the user what the app is for. Pintrest is this moodboard type of thing, so it presents pictures in a moodboard kind of way. Perhaps the initial reaction from a lot of people to Nostr's flexibility is disorientation, rather than recognizing the opportunities this creates. Telling them that the same content can be shown a bunch of different ways is meaningless to them, because they lack a mental framework/understanding to comprehend. Maybe I should frame it differently, from an angle they do understand which is how the web experience over time became bland, similar to how mcdonalds buildings became boring. The more your focus is ''the masses'', the more you seek out the lowest common denominator. Any bold, opinionated choice simply undermines your ''masses'' ambition. The ''UI/UX" landscape of the legacy platforms is not such because it is the best, and/or the most appealing; they are such because they are the least offensive to the largest share of the users. And they need to be, they can't afford to be anything else, their whole model/architecture depends on mass adoption of their app. With Nostr, no such pressure exists (network effect in the protocol not the location/platform blablabla), so all the sudden, liberated from this pressure, things can be hyper opinionated, hyper outputting to anyone but a few. Hyper specialized for purpose, hyper bespoke depending on the use-case. The point is not that you can look at anything in any way, it is that you can look at what you want in the way you want. The point is not the infinity options available, the point is that within that infinity you can pick the one particular to you. View quoted note โ†’

Don't get me wrong, i am not praying for the apocalypse (or am I), but what if ''the web'' just starts to break down and crumble under the pressure of hacks and exploits. Are "we" ready? Can we say 'sorry your favorite platforms are down or unreliable for whatever reason, sorry things happened to your account and/or content.....here is something that was better to begin with but also just works' What if it was never about us winning a popularity contest, what if our job is to ensure we are the last survivor?

Ive had a look and there is still a lot of the technical parts bleeding through. Tasking the robots to try again on something more straightforward. Going through the current site though, it sort of feel surreal that all the functionality supposedly is real (i have not actually tested it, i am just praying the robots are not gaslighting me) View quoted note โ†’

Ive thusfar approached the Trust Extended Permissions Protocol (TEPP) from a "negative" perspective of preventing things. Obviously so because from a technical perspective it is a permission system. But now that the alpha build of the engine is done, and i need to start implementing it, i tasked myself to look at it in a' 'positive'' manner, as something that is created and facilitates. I ended up with Tuin. Tuin means garden in Dutch. In both languages (perhaps in others as well, but i only knew these two), a yard or garden already carriers this connotation of a shaped, maintained, safe and accomodating space. As such it already has explicit relation to childer; a kindergarten(hehe guess that is German), a school yard and in Dutch a playground is a play garden. The point of TEPP is that as parents, you are able to craft a garden and connect it to other gardens. I imagine this large network of interconnected gardens that 'our' children are able to roam. The idea is not so much that you go and inspect other gardens in their precise lay-out etc., but that you mostly base it off the other gardners, the other parents or organizations that crafted their space. If something goes wrong, you know where in this interconnected network of gardens that is open to your child it occured and you can take action. Now, I took this perspective and gave it to the robot. My brain is cooked so i will look at it in the morning if it is any good, but please have look and tell me if any of it is making any sense https://npub1axgj364mgguu44vqm4q728zcvx6pj3yuzhluxay099ht3kjx9qfq7s8ckj.nsite.lol/

The world is full of ''communities'', where people share a particular interest and organize themselves around that interest. Oldtimer cars, or jigsaw puzzles. Lets take the latter. You have the market for jigsaw puzzles, with people designing and selling them, you have people creating content around the puzzles discussing or solving them. There are tournaments of all sorts where puzzles are done competatively. It does not really matter what the ''community'', or perhaps you can call it ''hobby'' is. The thing i want to draw attention to here is the interaction and organization surrounding it. The internet facilitated a lot of these things, allowing people with shared interest to find eachother regardless of where they are on this earth, as well as give them to tools do perform these interactions and manage organizing things. Youtube channels, websites, reddit stuff, tweets, we use what these platfoms provide in order to do all these things. Nostr is an obvious (to me/us) answer. You can create whatever bespoke app/client/enfornment for your hobby/community, on this interoperable substrate. The infrastructure won't be dependent on a particular company, and the community is never forced into some migration. Ofcourse, within that infrastrure things may shift in terms of both actors, relays and apps used, but there are always these interoperable tie-ins that generally keep things ''together''. @utxo the webmaster ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ mentioned it in its interview with @Seth that "Bitcoiners" are just the first ''community'' to addopt Nostr. As a result ''we'' (partially) molded the environment around this interest. In a way, what Nostr needs, or perhaps could use/benefit from, is taking whatever particular interest/hobby you have and ''community'' you are in, to take the environment that Nostr provides and build an infrastructure for it and convince the others in the community to use it. Not saying that it is easy/trivial, but it atleast is a somewhat clear ambition. An agenda nip/standard becomes more valuable to more clubs of whatever kind use it to organize their meetups and competitions. The more standards become more standard, the more the standard which these standards function becomes move valuable. Where do we want to build and acrew the value?

I hosted a dinner last night, and abused the situation to test the new update of Table mesh with 5 people and 8 devices. It worked! There were some rough edges as well as a catastrophic failure right at the end, but that was because i intentionally tried to break things. That was from a technical perspective, but i also observed what actually happened at the table. People were mostly focussed on their own screen/phone. They did share the experience, but the attention was not focussed on the center of the table where normally the board would be, eventhough i had a tablet that displayed the board; all the information the player needed was on their phone as well, and as such never bothered to look elsewhere. This part needs some reflection as well.
