I will never use or recommend a Bitcoin or Lightning wallet that requires my phone number.
Sadly Blink one of the most commonly used wallets in underdeveloped countries with the most vulnerable people bc of autharitarians ruling is doing this.

I dedicate my work to Bitcoin and freedom tech, because in a world of wars, human rights abuses, corporate and governmental surveillance, ...and on goes the list.., it's crucial to have tools for people's self-defense and for millions it's really about survival.

Want to thank HRF, @gladstein and team for this fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from human rights activists and Bitcoiners from all over the world. It was inspiring and very motivating. Onwards!
First day and first time in New Zealand and I already exchanged BTC to cash with a complete stranger. Bitcoin is the people’s network.

Yesterday I helped someone in Lebanon to download and install a Bitcoin wallet. I was in the USA. After about one hour back and forth we sent emergency relief money that was received within seconds.
The answer was: „today I won’t be able to sleep 🤯😇“ expressing the surprise that this really works.

Norway has incredible amounts of excess renewable energy. Nonetheless new regulations want to force bitcoin mining out of the country, because of the alleged high CO2 consumption.
Which is silly in two ways as below result shows:
first it increases the cost of green energy for residents and secondly it drives mining to other places which might use more fossil fuels and increase CO2 emissions.
A lose lose for Norway.

Use @SimpleX Chat messenger! It gives you the best #privacy protection.
Unlike #Signal it doesn’t need your phone number.
#Telegram and #WhatsApp not only want your phone number they collect loads of data and metadata from your device. Especially vile is the collection of your device‘s IMEI (device ID) and sharing all that data with companies to make money and with authorities due to the need to comply.
In authoritarian countries this metadata can cost you your life!
