After the success of the Joe Bryan 'Eat & Meet' event in March we go again with a summer event at the same pub - Weeping Willow in Barrow (just outside Bury St Edmunds).
The aim of the evening is simple; good food, good conversation and an interesting guest that people will want to meet and speak to.
There aren't speeches or presentations, it's a chilled but invigorating early week meet up with a unique vibe.
For Summer 2025 we bring you @Susie Violet, CEO and Co Founder of @Bitcoin Policy UK. Susie works tirelessly for Bitcoin advocacy in the UK and yet has still found time to come and meet Bitcoiners in Bury St Edmunds!
It's a BITCOIN ONLY event but that doesn't mean you have to know anything about Bitcoin - if you're curious and looking to speak to Bitcoiners it's a very safe space, and if you're further into your Bitcoin journey you'll find like minded people to have great conversations with.
Feedback from the last event - attendees commented on what a great pub and space it was last time and many have been back since. The area that was more difficult for attendees and pub staff was the food situation - people mingled between groups and tables which made it hard for the team to take orders and resulted in attendees going to the bar to order the food themselves (time away from the conversations, something us Bitcoiners hate!).
We've taken the feedback on board and this time we will be charging for the tickets to cover the cost of food on the evening. The food will be individual portions on sharing platters - things like beef sliders, chicken sliders, halloumi burgers, fries etc. It will be served between 6:30 and 7:30 to allow people to continue mingling between groups as the food is served. We think this will be easier for attendees and easier for the pub waiting staff and kitchen.
All you'll need to do on the evening is sort out your drinks, and with it being July hopefully some of the conversations will spill out into the amazing pub garden, too.
