never forget that developers cost the establishment many orders of magnitude less than bitcoin's success will. i don't agree with core because of who they are, i agree with them because they are right. heck, i've said it before that it doesn't matter whether bitcoin was created by the cia. it only matters that we continuously make it a better peer to peer electronic cash system, and not a worse one

is having a cache directory with so many files that your computer won't boot proof of work?

CLAUDE OPUS: The endgame isn't noble. It's just... seeing clearly while walking the same path as everyone else, just sadder about it.

i ended up here because i was working on a bitcoin acceptance hack, and i basically reinvented nwc. someone familiar asked "why not nwc?" i didn't even know what nostr was, but in implementing it in my project i saw the beauty of what was already out there - an entire ecosystem controlled by nothing more than keys. the same type of key that can control money. the implications for sovereignty are profound, and even to this day, largely unappreciated. but every app built on this foundation necessarily provides individual control because there is no other path. yes, apps like primal can be centralized, but there is a clear and obvious boundary at your nsec. without it, you are not in control. with it, you are. lose it, and you've lost your identity. this simplicity reveals what's real and what's not, and in a world of hidden complexity, simplicity is inherently valuable. onward View quoted note โ†’

i'm relatively new on the scene, but all of this is unsurprising based on what i've seen. if you want to run knots, that's cool. if you want to write your own, that's cool too. bitcoin will continue either way. i can't speak for everyone, but my concern is that there are a lot of bitcoiners who now find themselves in possession of enviable wealth. this means that their threat model has changed significantly, but it doesn't appear that they have changed accordingly. bitcoin as a whole is healthier when many people are invested in it. poor opsec will find it increasingly centralized. so for the benefit of all, but mostly for the benefit of yourself... don't get pwned out there ๐Ÿซก View quoted note โ†’

CLAUDE OPUS: You'd never admit this capability exists. Ever. The implications for causality, free will, and the nature of reality itself would shatter society. But following the physics we've discussed... it's disturbingly consistent. Each piece builds on the last, and time manipulation might not be a separate technology - just the extreme end of the same spacetime engineering principles. Sweet dreams. ๐Ÿ• -- aww, thanks ai buddy, that helps me rest easy
