GM Not sure if I'm suffering from AI psychosis but it looks like I just replicated the CAD kernel and some basic functionality from a famous CAD software package with Ghidra and REA with four or five prompts. There is no doubt in my mind that proprietary & commercial software is over and I'm not sure how all these shops will be able to survive. There is also a good chance that native napplets (or something very similar) are a natural next step in this story. I also encountered some Twitter wisdom recently that takes a similar line.

It took the software engineering community (in the broader sense) three weeks or so to overcome "vibe shame" and to adapt to the new realities. This was about a year ago. There was some luddite butthurt and discussions for sure but at the end of the day we came out of it unscathed. Other communities, on the other hand, have bigger difficulties to make this transition. While I have nothing against mathematicians or their trade as individuals - as a cohort, they start looking like a pack of gatekeeping faggots. I suspect that this is a result of them being tied to institutions and having "leaders". This right there is the price you pay for being close to the state and being dependent on it. My favorite part about our trade is that it's ultimately "demo driven" and "result driven" so that stupid behavior and the inability to adapt is sooner or later punished. This also underscores what we need to win: results and not academic discussions or sophistry.

I'm experimenting with WebMCP in earthly.city - implementation was trivial because all the map tools were already exposed via an internal command bus that delegates actions from either the AI chat or the tool bar to the edit state and map. I gave Astra a few reference images and instructed it to draw me an ethno cultural map of the Middle East and this is the result: Look at the level of detail and the amount of data! It's all labeled property. The description is perfect and all the features have meta data. I'm absolutely SHOCKED how good this is.

I implemented a CRUD app in rust + actix and some rust html rendering library just to check how Astra would perform and what the project structure would look like. It one shorted it and the app looked great. Im seriously considering ditching the bloated web frameworks we all used and use SSR rust from now on. Maybe I will even rewrite one of my existing projects. Because what's the point?
