One reason we build in the open:
Someone out there will see something differently than we do.
Maybe you find a bug.
Maybe you have a better idea.
Maybe you build something we never imagined.
That isn’t a threat to open-source software.
That’s part of the point.
The Zap Cooking iOS app is getting closer. 🍎
A lot of the work right now is the unglamorous stuff:
Testing.
Edge cases.
Small interactions.
Fixing the things that almost work.
We’ve made great progress.
More soon.
One of the great things about food is that you can experience another place without getting on a plane.
A recipe gets posted in one country.
Someone discovers it halfway around the world.
Then it becomes dinner.
The internet is pretty great when it works like that.
Bitcoin is built into Zap Cooking because value should be able to move as easily as information.
But that doesn’t mean the experience needs to feel technical.
One-tap backup.
One-tap restore.
Bitcoin directly inside the app.
Powerful technology underneath.
We simplify your Bitcoin experience.
Marinate it.
Get the grill hot.
Give it about ten minutes.
Char, lemon, skewers, done. 🇬🇷
Sometimes simple ingredients just need fire.

Why put Bitcoin into a cooking app?
Because information isn’t the only thing worth sharing online.
Value matters too.
If someone gives you a recipe, technique, story, or idea that genuinely helps, Bitcoin gives you a way to say:
That was useful. Thank you.
Directly.
One of the strange things about the modern internet is having to rebuild yourself every time you try a new app.
New username.
New followers.
New network.
Nostr flips that around.
The app can change.
You stay you.
That idea is a big reason Zap Cooking exists here.
iPhone cooks, we’re getting close. 👀
Still plenty to clean up, but you’re gonna love where this is going. ⚡️🍳
Zap Cooking for iOS. Coming soon.

Cook+ memberships continue to grow.
We don’t take that lightly.
Every membership is someone choosing to help fund more building, better tools, and a stronger food community.
There are plenty of ways to monetize attention.
We’d rather create something useful enough that people choose to support it.
Zap Cooking keeps getting more useful on Android. ⚡️

Zap Cooking — Zapstore
Zap Cooking is a food-first social experience built around food and community. Discover and publish recipes, share food, plan meals, build grocery ...
Before putting something on your grocery list, ask:
What am I actually planning to make with this?
It’s a tiny question that can reduce waste, save money, and make the grocery trip much more useful.
A grocery list gets better when it starts with meals instead of ingredients.
One of our favorite things about Nostr is opening the feed and seeing food from completely different parts of the world.
So, wherever you are:
What are you eating today?
Photo, recipe, breakfast, lunch, dinner — doesn’t matter.
Show us your corner of the food world. 🌎🍳
Cheffy is now inside My Kitchen on Android. 🤖🍳
Need a substitution?
Trying to figure out what you can make with what you have?
Want help planning the week?
Ask Cheffy where you’re already doing the work.
AI becomes a lot more useful when it stops feeling like a separate destination.
Some recipes carry more than ingredients.
This one was taught to the author’s father by his mother, who was born in Sweden.
That kind of recipe doesn’t need reinvented.
It needs passed along.

You don’t need to be a chef to have something worth sharing about food.
Maybe it’s a family recipe.
A shortcut that works.
Something you made for the first time.
Or just dinner on a Monday.
We want Zap Cooking to feel like a place where showing up is enough.
Food. Friends. Freedom.

A lot of technology.
One simple goal:
We simplify your cooking experience.
The first crêpe is rarely beautiful.
That’s okay.
It belongs to the cook.
After that: thin, foldable, endlessly customizable, and surprisingly simple.
Straight from a French culinary school. 🇫🇷
French Pancakes (Crêpes)

French pancakes (Crêpes)
This is the recipe from the French culinary school.
A better week can start with three meals.
Not seven.
Pick three things you know you’ll actually make.
Let Cheffy help fill the schedule and build the grocery list.
Leave room for leftovers, plans changing, and ordering pizza.
A useful plan should create freedom, not another obligation.
We’re not trying to turn every cook into a Bitcoin expert.
We’re trying to make Bitcoin useful enough that you don’t need to be one.
Find something valuable.
Support the person who shared it.
Keep going.
The payment technology should disappear into the experience.
