America only understands brute force and intimidation. Europe, and thus Denmark, lacks those qualities (at least in sufficient quantities). Europe has bet the house on Ukraine winning the war, and this is utterly impossible without American involvement. Given all this, the ceding of Greenland will come as a deep humiliation to Denmark, but as it stands, it's almost a fait accompli.
