Is your hot pot a sneakerhead? #foodstr

Millennials/older zoomers are old enough to have been sold the American dream and young enough to get completely rugged by the same people who sold that dream.
#asknostr Are there any hardcore bands out there who are bitcoiners?
I've never considered myself a punk kid and don't go to a lot of shows anymore because I'm ~old~ but I find it interesting how the hardcore scene hasn't quite figured out bitcoin yet. If I had to guess, most people in that world don't just don’t understand how neatly the venn diagram overlaps between the bitcoin protocol and true hardcore punk ethos of being an anti-establishment, DIY anarchist.
Is the reality that most people don't actually care about the message of the music and just want to go have fun or release some anger in the pit? Which if that’s the case I totally respect and have no judgement about whatsoever. I'm probably just jaded to the idea that people are out here selling albums and merch about how you hate the system but also use that same system when a better alternatives exists 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Anyways, I'll turn this Gulch album back on shut up...

GM NOSTR.
This is what real emotional maturity and true artistry sound like. Kendrick continues to inspire.
Don’t get me wrong, I have a vested interest in MSTR like many bitcoiners. But if I see you wearing this in public I’m going to ask you what a UTXO is or something.

DIRECTORS CUT OF NEW PEGGY ALBUM V GOOD🔥🔥🔥🔥

I really began to understand bitcoin when I started viewing it as encrypted energy money.
By holding the keys to a UTXO (not just buying on an exchange) you literally own an amount of energy that was expended. You can then transfer that energy to someone else in exchange for a good or service if you chose.
But the second you start talking about “encrypted energy money” to friends and family they start to look at you sideways. Glad there’s a place like this where I feel more sane 😅
Nostr really melts my brain when I actually take a step back and think about it. Like it’s hard to imagine the scale of the impact this protocol is going to have on the world.
Jeff Walton aka Punter Jeff is going to be the Roaring Kitty of MSTR. I’m a fan of Jeff's (and all the MSTR true north guys) work and he seems like a genuine dude.
It's going to be tough watching him testify in front of congress one day explaining to a bunch of boomers that he just did the proof of work to understand the trade. And that MSTR is in fact not a pyramid scheme.
I think this comment from a reddit thread about the "buyout" (
https://www.reddit.com/r/fednews/comments/1icj3wc/this_non_buyout_really_seems_to_have_backfired/) is the perfect representation of the mindset of a lot of government employees. They are operating out of a place of fear because they are being forced to reckon with the fact that they have no optionality. They don't have any skills that are transferable outside of the government job they always have had. They have operated with this mindset that their job will always exist and the status quo will remain forever. Now they are having to come to terms with a reality that their job might no longer exist and they have to, for the first time, consider what their life outside of that would look like.
While I have some empathy for these people and do not wish hardship or pain on anyone, there needs to be recognition that this mindset and attitude is what has been bloating and weighing down our society for decades. People have been coddled by and become dependent on an unsustainable system for so long. The rubber is now meeting the road and someone has to feel the pain. While I am not a supporter of Trump and his party members, he is the natural response for a system that has taken so much and provided so little.

For all of us libertarians and anarchist out here on Nostr, I am here to tell you from the inside that Trump is actually fucking up the governement in a big way. The agency I work at (NIH) is a complete shitshow. Everyone is in complete panic mode. Selfishly, it's kind of fun to sit back and watch the beast eat itself from the inside.
This has made me realize there is a huge difference in the mentality of folks who live in DC vs. people like myself who are outside of that geographic bubble and where hired to work remotely during covid. Meanwhile, everyone just got an email titled "Fork in the Road" offering every fed employee a chance to resign by the end of next week. And yes... I will be taking that out and finally quit contributing to a fundamentally broken system that we as bitcoiners all despise. More to come later…
“While some may argue that such a ban stifles financial innovation, the counter-argument is that Bitcoin itself is the innovation.”
Great work Preston

GM NOSTR. It dawned on me that I never did a proper #introductions and have basically been writing notes into the void…
My name is Tyler. I'm mostly interested in venturing further down the endless bitcoin rabbit hole, riding bikes, listening to weird music, and understanding human psychology. My girlfriend and I are working to escape the fiat hellscape and build a better future. Happy to be here ✌🏼
GM Nostr. This weekend it really hit me just how powerful of a combo nostr + bitcoin is. Let’s keep building the future we want to see.
This is the way 🫡

This is a very thought provoking convo. While I’m trying to stay away from the black pill narrative (selfishly for my own personal sanity), Mark makes a lot of compelling points. I think it’s important for people like him to continue to keep the bitcoin community in check.
The future is not going to be this cypherpunk utopia where bitcoin fixes everything. Sure, it’s great if our bags get pumped. But what type of world is that going to create? At what cost? A lot to chew on. Great work as always Danny.

Drake filing a federal defamation lawsuit against UMG might be the biggest bitch move in all of hiphop history. We’re witnessing a generational L in real time.
As an OG Drake hater for over a decade now, watching his demise throughout 2024 was very validating. But it’s now at the point where I genuinely feel sorry for him. He is clearly spiraling and obviously needs professional help but it doesn’t seem like he’s in a place to receive it.
Kendrick was really on some anime villain shit by trying to help out the dude after completely destroying him.
“Therapy’s a lovely start
But I suggest some ayahuasca, strip the ego from the bottom”
As someone who’s life aligns pretty well with this chart, I would argue there is a direct correlation between time at home and someone’s mental health. People working from home since 2020 are completely losing touch with reality (myself included).
It sounds nice and has its perks at times but is completely unnatural and enables screen addiction/dopamine loops. You become a slave to your algorithm and whatever online echo chambers you find yourself in.
Also, you have have zero social interactions outside of whoever you live with whether that’s partner, family, roommates, etc. I was lucky enough to have found the bitcoin/nostr community and am building my way out of this trap. But many are not even aware of how fast their mental stability is declining.

It's pretty terrifying for people to come to the realization that the stability of our entire global economy, and by proxy our entire social fabric that holds the world together, lies in the hands of a small group of people who exhibit clinically psychopathic behaviors and symptoms (see below).
We're all passengers on a plane that has been hijacked by insane people yet most of the passengers aboard don't even realize it. Meanwhile, the powers that be are in the cockpit doing blow, taking shots, and having a great time with no intention of trying to land the plane safely beacuse they're too fucked up and don't care. The few that understand how dangerous this situation is are just stuck trying to build a way to get off of this plane.
For reference:
"Psychopathic behaviors are characterized by a combination of emotional detachment, interpersonal manipulation, and a disregard for societal norms or the rights of others. Individuals with psychopathy often exhibit superficial charm, appearing confident and charismatic while using these traits to manipulate others. They frequently lie and deceive without guilt, driven by a grandiose sense of self-worth and an inability to feel empathy or remorse. Their emotions are shallow, often displayed superficially or faked to suit their needs.
Behaviorally, psychopaths are impulsive and prone to reckless decisions, often engaging in risky or illegal activities without considering the consequences. They may exhibit irresponsibility, failing to honor commitments or manage personal obligations, and can display aggression or violence with little provocation. A parasitic lifestyle is common, where they exploit others for financial or emotional gain. They are often fearless, unafraid of danger or punishment, and struggle with poor behavioral control, leading to frequent outbursts or impulsive acts.
Psychopathy is assessed through tools like the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R), which identifies traits in two areas: interpersonal and emotional detachment, and impulsive, antisocial behaviors. While psychopathy overlaps with Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD), it places greater emphasis on manipulative and calculating behaviors, as opposed to the impulsivity and emotional reactivity more typical of ASPD. Some psychopaths function successfully in society, using their traits to achieve personal or professional goals, while others engage in more overtly harmful or criminal acts."
