I have a ton of respect for Jack Mallers. He is in the arena while most of us are just armchair quarterbacks. I don’t question his dedication to bitcoin and he has the resume to back it up. But he really fucked up big time. He’s gotta take this on the chin like a man. Dude gets in bed with Cantor Fitzgerald and Tether, pumps a stock as if it would compete with MSTR, builds virtually nothing, and then dips out… Reading between the lines it seems pretty clear this was over ideological differences WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY OBVIOUS FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. I’m a dumb pleb and even I know cantor and tether have deep state ties… so what did you expect? Where was the due diligence on a multi billion dollar transaction? Wouldn’t you know what you’re signing up for and who you’re working with? But what do I know The bright side is that I think it’s safe to assume Jack isn’t compromised and is still acting in good faith. He’s just more naive than I thought and had to learn a hard lesson in a very public way.

This is one of the hardest lessons I’ve learned on my journey and something I have mid curved TF out of. Seems like most bitcoiners (myself included) are generally pretty bad at calibrating this. We exist in a state of constantly thinking the whole world is going to collapse tomorrow. That is a rational perspective. We can see how fragile the system is. We know it just takes the wind to blow the wrong way for it all to crumble. But we underestimate how irrational human beings are and how much energy and resources will be put into propping this system up. Applying logical thinking to an irrational system and then getting frustrated when you don’t get the results you thought is a pretty brutal process.
