Good morning In times of war, normalcy biased must be set to the side… things can change in an instant… First, if you are living in a country with a reasonable probability of being attacked, establish an emergency plan for the most common scenarios and be prepared in advance with emergency supplies/resources needed to reach a place of safety as quickly and safely as possible…Common scenarios to have an SOP for: - What does your wife/children do if someone violent is at the door? - What does your wife do if you are arrested on false charges or taken into custody for defending yourself or your family? - What does everyone in the family do if cell phone coverage is suddenly gone and the instant communication we all take for granted is cut off? - If where you live is no longer safe or is within reach of a military target, where will you go to mitigate that risk? - If there is no more gas/food/water what will you do? Are you prepared to be able to get somewhere that those resources are available? - What route will you take? Do you know the best back-roads that will offer the best chance to avoid panicked crowds/traffic/accidents/delays during an emergency? - Do you have enough gas to get to your destination even if your tank is 1/4 full when the shit hits the fan? - Do you have supplies ready to throw into the truck that will give you time once you arrive to set your family up, or survive until you make it if you are delayed? Establish emergency procedures for your family, and then practice them to ensure execution is achievable under stress. Make it a game if you have young kids. If asked about the above scenarios, each family member should be quickly able to recite the game plan. I recommend reading the various works of Joel Skousen, who has produced some fantastic resources in preparedness… Bonus step: Educate (or re-educate) yourself on guerrilla warfare strategies and tactics, as they are the only effective means by which to engage a larger, better equipped force. Your mind is the most dangerous weapon you have, sharpen it so it is not dull when the fight comes to you. To this end I would recommend reading Guerrillas In The Mist by R. P.
