Another awesome @Daniel Prince pod with @Luke de Wolf, #bip110, not a classic intelligence test, but maybe a proof of work test for all those node runners polishing their self sovereignty halos, without really asking why. Have you actually explored what it is and what it might do and what not updating might do. Ngl, the chain split is a concern but it has happened before and will likely happen again, it may happen but what is important is how everyone learns from the experience. The risk management perspective for the public miners can’t be overlooked (Luke’s the man for this). Is your profitability where @npub1qtvl...7dze ‘s is? if not, you’re neglecting your fiduciary duty and also introducing risks of mining on an orphaned chain, also those could happen either way, but cutting out bit op_return would just reduce this risk. Finally, very low brow, but the whole “it’s a database” crowd, why are they so keen on storing non financial data on the proof of work chain? image

“As Barthes said, “If there is an author, the text may then be conclusively explained”. As long as Satoshi stays on the run, the myth goes on.” Humanyun and Belk (2018) Kind of a weird paper about authorship and the identity of Satoshi, but also kinda cool. One thing that was certainly established was Craig Wright is not Satoshi, but also the emergence of new “prophets” that could be Satoshi strangely mirrors the idea that Bitcoin in a way is similar to other religions where new prophets emerge and profess that they have the “true message of God/Satoshi”. Also, stay humble, don’t let your Bitcoin religion become too dogmatic, stay open to new ideas, while to Socio part (Hayes 2019) may determine how Bitcoin can integrate with our lives, underneath it all, while important, it is still simply better money, and what we build upon that base it was is most important.

This is just getting ridiculous, but on the other hand, if I had a phone with a camera (and others around me) and social media when I was a late teen, my life would have been ruined many times over……. But rather than a fiat edict, this is a lesson to be taught by parents and then learnt by the children themselves, maybe scrolling into the wee hours of the morning does favours for no one. image

If I don’t keep pushing, I won’t be at my best for when it’s needed. Lovely evening for a spin, and great to have the flat pedals back on, now watching the World Cup (biking variety) before I get cooking a 15oz rump. If I wasn’t being a social only drinker, would love to wash it down with a little🍷 , time to test the stoicism. image

GA nostriches, After the most recent mini dump and the setting of a lower low, the questions begin to be raised, have we really hit the bottom? After 199 days since the late February bottom, it felt like the low was in and this idea was dashed as we dipped below $60k. The realisation at this time was, obvious and may be stupid as it sounds, there will always be a lower low, until the bottom is in, a which point the bull market can resume. Through out 2022, it continually felt like the bottom was in, until in November, when our dry powder was truly gone and all the sellers had been well and truly shaken out and it really felt like £10k was on the cards, the low was actually in. The start of the bull market is only obvious 6 months to a year down the line, and even from November 2022, we did not climb very quick back to previous all time highs, it was a slow and gradual climb, with dips, through the 20ks, only reaching $30k in October 2023. Could we continue to crab walk? Could we head lower, given time between the last all time high and the bottom of the market, we could be waiting until later this year. If we then look at how far we drop from the all time high (percentage terms) and where and when the bottom could be, there may be further to go (30% of all time highs sorry but ~$38k), but saying that, as we didn’t get to high, this might not drop quite so far. And saying that dropping to around the previous cycle’s all time high (or slightly lower), would match with the low of 2022, dipping below $20k. So now, we have an idea of when the bottom could be in, based on previous cycles, now then, how long might we have to wait until the next all time high. Last cycle with the early, pre halving all time high, not as long as previous cycles. How long we had to wait appears to be falling, but this might mean we’d have to wait until around mid 2027 for a new all time high……. Can you all hold out another year. Bitcoin still keeps working, enforcing the hard cap, processing transactions, it will still be there at the end of the year and in the middle of next year. Outside this certainty, with all the geopolitical uncertainty, who knows what could happen, who knows who is loading up, getting over exposed or what impact this week’s IPO from the stars will bring, and whether the recent dip was simply degens trading their bitcoin to make more bitcoin the SpaceX. Either way, I’m still focused on my craft, focused on accumulating but also focused on making connects and building other forms of capital outside bitcoin’s financial capital. Remember, Bitcoin with a capital B is the network, and that is how we take power away from the government. All the big boys loading up don’t care about this part as much h, and they don’t realise what they’re missing. Having lots of money locked up with institutions doesn’t buy you freedom. Peace out.

Gm nostriches, happy Monday, time to build, and to reference today’s 🤯 moment, when we replace building permits with planning permission, the power and ability to improve/destroy the world transfers to those with no skin in the game (civil servants and politicians @allen ). If you ask people in the house about my day (weekend was high emotions throughout), I’m going to work for a rest 😕, emotional rest; yes, but intellectual, no way. The piece I absolutely have to right is still there, but it’s now had a sidekick added, which given considerably less harrowing, may have just taken pole position on my to do list. #coffechain #catstr, yeah my thoughts exactly about such a ridiculous book. Eldest winning points with “I love meat” 🍖 😍

Had this idea knocking around my head while on holiday, so once I got back into the office, thought I'd look into it. Being in the 10% of the most wealthy in the UK likely doesn't make you rich, but may make you are target. Act accordingly. New nostr read.
