People use Monero more on Nostr than Bitcoin now. The Monero Tips are Bigger, and More Frequent while having Clunky/Poor UX compared to lightning zaps. Blake2b + Big Blocks/Dynamic Block Size Limits + Halo2 + Tail Emissions + Bitcoin Knobs + Removing SegWit would be a step towards making a viable Competitive Bitcoin Alternative to Monero.

If The Bitcoin (Blake2b mining algorithm version) actually improves mining, and makes it feasible for consumer hardware to mine without specialized hardware, it might be the biggest breakthrough in Bitcoin history. I disagreed with the Knots/BIP110/Blake crowd historically but even if this is true, and it is implemented, it will at the very least give people a viable alternative that would inch closer to Satoshi’s original intent. HODLers are a threat to Bitcoin, as they kill Bitcoin’s ability to circulate. Bitcoin should implement tail emissions as a clear signal to people that we are prioritizing P2P cash, and not SoV, or speculation, etc. I think the 21 Million was an oversight by Satoshi, yes, he was protesting the hyperinflation we’ve seen in recent years but he went to other extreme. Inflation is not the enemy, it’s extreme inflation. Switzerland has proven that Fiat/Inflation isn’t the enemy, it’s putting the money printer into the hands of incompetent idiots. Now to clarify, I do not support central banks, or fiat money but I do support sound money in any form. I would prefer to live in a world where every fiat currency was like The Swiss Franc, or The Gold Backed Dollar. Is it ideal world? No The ideal world is one where a decentralized currency has a low, fixed, reliable, or predictable inflation that everyone could account for, so inflation doesn’t hurt as much, as the world expands the demand for currency expands, inflation is justifiable if new goods, and the amount of people in the economy are equal to, or outnumber the relative new supply of money. The problem begins when the money is made in excess more than what can be absorbed by the system.

If you a store of value, use gold. Bitcoin, Monero, Z-Cash, and other cryptos aren’t just “another way to send money online”. PayPal, Venmo, WesternUnion, Zelle, & yes unfortunately even CashApp (on its fiat tools) are all controlled, & centralized. If I wanted to buy marijuana, a firearm, adult materials, or any other taboo thing under the current fiat system those transactions could be stopped. The original purpose of Bitcoin was to be able to transact without permission. People who are looking to increase fiat gains should use Stocks, & Gold instead. To clarify to everyone, don’t come asking me for Monero, I am not a liquidity machine. I talk about Monero but I am probably broker than most of us on here. I just want to get out of the way before everyone starts demands monero from me, and claiming Monero has failed because I don’t tip. If I earned more in income I definitely would be stacking more Monero, tipping, purchasing, etc.

The thing that’s annoying about Western society suffering is that most of it is completely fake, and unnecessary. Artificially created, we have the ability to end the housing shortage for example but we aren’t. Im a way I think that’s why Westerners are sadder than people who experience real suffering because real suffering makes people stronger. Fake suffering is a perpetual cycle, a self-inflicted suffering. It’s hard/weird to explain. All types of suffering are unfortunate, and we should do our best as a species to end it. But I notice the Non-Western people are happier even though they have cartels, & drugs, and bombs, and starvation, etc. but the westerner have (at least some) the nice stuff, and yet they feel empty, and pointless on the inside.
