2 years ago today, a random idea took hold of my mind and even though I first dismissed it as a basic, too simplistic, uninteresting idea, it lingered on and started occupying more and more of my headspace. In time, nuance started forming, ideas on how to do old things differently and on how to create synergy between my own multitudes of interests started to emerge. The whole thing went from seemingly random and boring to something that would literally not let me sleep because it had become that exciting. That random idea is, of course, known as @SATOSH.EE Even though it feels like I've been working on it for 10+ years and not mere 2; even though I've had to change, dismiss or hold off on implementing some of my original ideas; even though "a few months to market" became "1.5 years to market"; even though the venture is not yet profitable; even though this whole journey has been 100x more difficult, time consuming and financially straining than I had first anticipated - I sure am glad I took the initiative, answered the call and went for it, knowing full well that I don't know much - and would have to figure things out on the fly. This is getting out of one's comfort zone, this is listening to one's inner voice, this is a privilege and a burden. I’m deeply grateful for everyone who has supported me along the way—who gave advice or feedback, who encouraged me, who made me consider the “what-ifs,” who helped with the “how-tos,” who partnered up, or who simply signed up and had a look around. I appreciate you all. And let me assure you: we’re just getting started. I want SATOSH.EE to become a go-to resource for using bitcoin in the real world. I want to offer exclusive discounts and offers—both from within the Bitcoin space and beyond. I want to give bitcoiners more ways to stack sats. I want to partner with and promote great businesses I genuinely align with. I want the most loyal customers to feel like co-owners of this project—because they are. They’re the core of the business. They’re what keep it alive. I want to see Open Source become the new norm for books, music, movies, and art. But hey, there's a lot one can want. And maybe that’s just my ego talking. Maybe what I want is not what the world needs. So. If you made it this far reading this note - what do you want from SATOSH.EE? What should be my main focus for the next 2 years?

A quick explanation of how "we are The Matrix" as @Jeff Booth put it (at least I think it was him I heard the expression from): (August 2023, Bitcoin Eesti podcast)

Life lately reminds me of my old songs... "Yeah, I’ve been dreaming alright Yeah, you’ve been dreaming all night We all been dreaming but you know what? All this dreaming does is just get our hopes up So fuck it, say fuck you to those dreams Say fuck you to those schemes Say fuck you to those themes" #tunestr

"From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded" (Luke 12:48) If much is demanded Then much has been given Even if it is not readily apparent Even if it doesn't feel as such Go within, "Seek and you will find" (Matthew 7:7-8) image

If your muse is Sophia — wisdom; and you live to love Her, then all the stupidity, ignorance, mistakes and missteps that you witness and experience — especially your own — can and will only serve as steps on a ladder of things you need to ascend and amend in order to reach Her.

A common, shared monetary base across jurisdictions does not only make trade more efficient by reducing transaction costs, it also makes war less profitable due to wealth being dematerialized and furthermore, it reduces the inequality (and thus the incentive to war in the first place) between them by removing a competitive advantage one might have due to having a better (more sound) money as the base of its economic activity. No more importing inflation to other countries. No more profiting off of the arbitrage between currencies. No more money printing to fund wars. No more bailouts. Just full responsibility and real consequences. View quoted note →
