There is probably a filter somewhere that is due for cleaning or replacement that you forgot about. Consider this your reminder.

Turn off the news. People you have never talked to in states you have never been to should not be consuming that much of your mind.

Went outside without my phone for a few days. It was nice. Unfollows aren't personal I'm just cutting down my nostr time now that I'm back.

Ever notice the kind of car covered in bumper stickers isn't the kind of car that screams the owner of this car is someone who has valuable opinions you should listen to.

This was enlightening. Turns out the real solution proposed to CSAM by knots people isn't "our filters will work" it is "we are all just going to trust MARA and Cloudflare (or whoever MARA is using for scanning) to do the real heavy lifting instead of solving our own problems" If you really think trusting an unknown 3rd parties black box scanner is a valid solution I don't even know where to begin. I had to look this up. Currently about $6 for 100 plastic pennies for teachers with 4.7 out of 5 stars reviews. I'm not saying every teacher, but you better go check on who is teaching your kids. View quoted note →

If you have never had to write a regex for input validation and parsing of data you didn't create, you don't know what you don't know and what you don't know is a fuck of a lot. This community is built around a proof of work project. Do the proof of work. Read inventing bitcoin, read mastering bitcoin, and read mastering the lightning network. write some code that manipulates a large data set you didn't create and then fix all your edge cases until it actually works. If you can't pass a test that shows you have equivalent knowledge to those experiences, you should not be writing public lists of "facts" about how bitcoin works acting like an expert who deserves to tell other people what node to run. Opinions about how to solve a complicated and newly discovered problem can vary. Spreading incorrect facts about the problem doesn't help anything but your ego. If your knowledge about the subject is only from a few nostr posts and 2 podcasts by the guy you agree with, please shut the fuck up.

You could spend a lifetime correcting core vs knots misinformation that has already been posted to nostr. I am the only person I have ever seen post a public retraction and correction on the subject.

I just saw a check in a public trash can. It was signed for mobile deposit so I assume it was deposited already. However, no effort was made to obscure the routing or account numbers or the identity of either party before dropping it in a public trash can. Between that and the grown man picking his boogers and eating them at a stop light I got a strong reminder that the average person has no concept of when, how, or why to try to be private.
