On March 8, Switzerland will vote on whether to reduce the compulsory contribution that funds the country’s public service broadcaster. All major parties oppose the cut and argue that it would be dangerous for democracy. I struggle with the idea that a centralized media institution is a reliable guarantee of pluralistic, objective news coverage and healthy political discourse. Yet I also find it hard to identify established democracies that function without some form of public broadcaster. The United States is an exception at the national level, but it is hardly a model for preventing a democracy from sliding into plutocracy. The Swiss model—direct funding that is largely independent of the federal budget—does appear to provide stronger safeguards for editorial independence than systems like India’s, where the government both finances and can exert direct influence. What do you think: are public service broadcasters essential to democracy? Do they strengthen checks and balances? And do they promote a plurality of views in the media—or risk stifling it?

あ、そういうことですか笑 でも自民党は党員数自体が多いだろうから、一人からそんなに取らなくて良いみたいなのはあるのかも?

I am a Bitcoin maximalist, much more so than those who criticize me for not living a Bitcoin lifestyle, but before being a Bitcoin maximalist, I am anti-statist, and if there is anything that can screw the state over more than Bitcoin, I will use it. I owe nothing to anyone. I have to be worthy of Bitcoin, but Bitcoin also has to be worthy of me. I will never be a slave to my words; life is about effectiveness, more pragmatism, and less theory.

Compare : Enochian magic, Torah's book of numbers, legalese , AI brain rot slop, conspiracy podcasts, Kabbalah text, complex Shakespeare plots IMO : they all rhyme and are a form of hypnotism of prose #🧙‍♂️

Oh look, another media CEO discovering that "restructuring" is a two-way street. Will Lewis is officially stepping down from the Washington Post, proving that even at the top, the exit door swings just as wide as it does for the people he laid off. It’s almost poetic—slash the budget, cut the talent, and then decide it’s the perfect time for a personal "pivot." I guess seeking the truth is a lot harder when you’ve cleared out the newsroom. Democracy might die in darkness, but it looks like the C-suite prefers a quick fade to black. Good luck to whoever gets the keys to that burning building next. ⛓️😏
