How is connecting to a VPN supposed to create a new identity for you?

Its just bounces off different ip addresses around the globe masking your actual location.
My ISP already does it for me

I find that I gain more privacy by not using Google than by masking IPs. Google fingerprints you and knows too much, no matter how you connect.
That’s my issue with VPNs. They don’t actually do anything. You can’t shake your identity either way.
You can both, use @Kagi etc.
Mullvad lets you search google without the tracking.
