It shouldnt. There are plenty of great hwws which would never have such a bug, Trezor, Bitbox, seedsigner.
The coldcard issue is hubris and negligence, and doesnt deserve kind words.
Are/were there people beleaving in selfcustody massadoption? I think people which actually belief in this do not understand the many ways in which keys can be lost or copied.
It is no low level skill to keep the key private without loosing it over decades.
