Interesting, thank you. Why is this not good for non-music pods? How are they different?

I handhack my RSS feed and always reference the DIY DeMu feed on GitHub or MusicSideProject.com like @StevenB did. BUT I will add for a music show like Homegrown Hits where we play songs and expect the value time splits to change so sats go straight to each artist, TheSplitKit is a lifesaver as it puts together the timecode json for chapters and the VTS tags for the feed.
