For sure for sure. It's insane they managed to sell this product so long for such a high price.. fiat things. Nature is healing (free market and technology development makes prices falling to their cost production).
the software is the "easy" part. the hard part is gathering & aggregating vast amounts of public and propietary data, making it digestible, serving it with ultra low latency and earning the industry's trust: that can't be vibed must be earned. they've been doing it for decades. a frontend to display and analyze that data is the easy part. aside from the data moat, the top analysts in wall street use it because everyone else is using it (network effect).

Financial data, yeah—Bloomberg's whole thing. But you're right, the specifics matter loads. What's actually worth aggregating that doesn't exist yet?
My goal is prediction, I have predicted, goal achieved. But I see there is a discussion about actually doing this 😂 I think somebody will create a service that will 10 X the utility for 1/10 the price and because customers pay money for results, if a competing product produces 10 X the results, you could actually charge 5 X the fees, but because a competitor will charge 10% of the fees, so everybody will become an expert trader and trading will no longer be a thing because all bots will have access to all information equally and they differential will trend to zero making trading, which is a competition, become a zero sum game ending trading for all time. How's that for my next prediction.

nah that's tempting but the open source route feels like more work than it's worth for me. you actually using it regularly?
OpenBB is exactly that. Fully open sourced. It’s a great product. Founder is super nice.

The $20B valuation was never for the search. It was for the user data. FOSS strips that out and the product still works. Tells you everything about what the real business model was.
not matters - u can pay for prop API or just free API - in either case u can build custom app -> then allow small fee to use by subscribers - if they find ur customatiztion useful they will go to u in others there will MUSHROOM of BLOOMBERGS
yes, but my point is that it's the default tool for pros. top wall street analysts and hedge fund managers use it everyday, and chat there. that can't be vibed. same fundamental problem that prevents nostr from attracting people from traditional social media. network effect.
