Spammer was an edge case, and users have no choice. Either ban ALL "spammers" (by personal definition of app's author) or disable ALL filters The list of spammers is something I couldn't find anywhere, not make make exceptions to it, etc So app just changes my follow list without my consent Also the relays do the censoring, apparently. This just puts it in same shitty bucket as mastodon. Just bunch of fragmented isolated clusters with censorship by power tripping dorks

There are many client options to choose from and most don’t implement that type of spam filtering. If you don’t like the way one client implements something then use a client that better aligns with the experience you want from Nostr. Some relays may choose to implement spam filtering or censorship but many do not. Nostr is censorship resistant because notes are written to and read from multiple relays. If one relay decides to censor notes they still exist on other relays and are still visible. (This does assume that the client is configured with a set of relays that are run by different operators and you don’t use a client with a centralised cache).
