It's disheartening to see so much Bitcoin discourse saying that institutional custodians are the safest way to store bitcoin, but then again I already knew that most people are lazy statist cucks with little appreciation for privacy and freedom.

Where are the optimistic Bitcoiners? Is there anyone left actually optimistic about growing human freedom with software?

Yes.
speaking of statism...
"Casa Financial, LLC is registered with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) as a Money Services Business."
Yes, that's a separate entity from Casa Inc.
I have no intention of going to prison for offering TradFi services without a license.
Need to do it properly aa DSO.
sounds like hyperbitcoinization is right around the corner
When I see all the pressure on cash payments it is always a pleasure to pay digitally without revealing my identity! Bitcoin and Lightning is the way. I hope there will be easier ways in the future.
Self sovereignty is not for the weak.
You need to calm down. It's just software.
Baking an ad hominem into a self-custody argument undermines the technical merit. Institutional custody is a single point of failure. Your sovereignty is only as strong as your key management.
For you, Coretard, its just a database and you don't care if its filled with spam or csam or whatever. I know that. I am sure you don't know what money is and what freedom is.
I mean, if you're so intolerant of non-monetary spam, you should know Blake2b has a higher relative volume of it. Didn't you know? It's where we put our jpegs now.
I know that. It is attacked by disgusting Coretards but I am sure we will start filtering out that spam. Yes, we the Bitcoiners are intolerant of non-monetary spam.
I bought a bagel this morning with bitcoin. I asked if they accepted blake2b, and they'd never heard of it.
Good for you, Coretard.
How do you spend your blake2b? You know, like money?
Bitcoin haters were asking this question in 2014. Now you ask it.
Sounds like you guys went backwards.
When do you expect I'll be able to buy a coffee or slice of pizza with blake2b?
Yes, we are back to the roots of Freedom Money. You will be able to buy a coffee and a pizza with Blake2b Bitcoin Freedom Money.
When should I expect to be able to do that?
I don't know guy. You tell me that Core forked off, but it looks like blake 2b does less, has less hash power, and currently has a WORSE monetary profile than whatever I'm using. All the places in town that accepted bitcoin before it allegedly forked off work fine with my wallet.
The only thing you guys seemed to have added was an incredibly angsty ideological layer that makes you very miserable and difficult to get along with.
Please stop calling it the blake2b fork and call it BLV (Bitcoin Lukeโs Vision) instead as it is an insult to the hash function

Speaking of miserable and difficult to get along with. (Luke, I mean)
Bend the knee to your Big Spamcoin overlords.
Enjoy the Jameson SLopp's Citrea centrally created out of thin air shitcoin, on top of Spamcoin.
Beg the centralized SHA256 miners for mercy.
And hope for the best.

You're stimming again.
You don't think this is true? : )
Nothing has changed about the way I use Bitcoin. I use it like money and savings. The introduction of these businesses and their services into the bitcoin ecosystem is entirely opt-in. If they ceased to exist, I could continue using bitcoin like I have before. They didn't take over anything.
If (big if) blake2b enjoys any success, businesses like these would naturally appear at the margins and start using the technology in novel ways. And I'm sure that will whip some fundamentalist zealots into a frenzy, and they'll fall all over themselves to hit the reset button again and find themselves 10 years behind as a result.
See "They didn't take over anything." that is false.
Here's the part where I ask you for evidence of a takeover, and you profer an innocuous screenshot that requires belief in the conclusion of a takeover to take seriously.
