So many scenes from LOTR hit you right in the feels because they’re Christian coded, though many fans don’t realized it. Burdened by the desperation of his people. Boromir's temptation by the Ring represents the weaknesses of human nature, especially pride and patriotism. However, he quickly realized his mistake and, without hesitation, courageously gave his life to protect Merry and Pippin, thereby atoning for his failure. His death demonstrates both humanity's vulnerability in the face of power and its capacity for repentance and noble self-sacrifice. His confession to Aragorn, "I tried to take the Ring from Frodo" echos the Christian sacrament of Confession. Boromir did not hide his sin; before his death, he openly admitted his wrongdoing and sought redemption through honesty and sacrifice. image

Tolkein was a devout Catholic. I’m sure Colbert’s continuation will be left wing slop just like Amazon’s Rings of Power. I’d bet good sats that it turns out Merry and Pippin are gay is his movie.

The ring itself is the core of the Lord of the Rings, turning what otherwise would be good and balanced into something more chaotic and less good. It shows that there's a pyramid that begins from the good but chaotic (like Turin Turambar) and constantly descends until it reaches the bottom of lawful evil (like Sauron). Therefore, you can create a universe of stories and contrasts just by being able to nudge the personalities of the characters in the right direction
i'm not happy about learning that Amazon has bought up the Tomb Raider IP after the brilliantly written reboot trilogy. they even switched out the voice of lara for no reason at all, total spit in the face of the fanbase they seem to think they are leveraging to pump out another corporate byproduct.
