I think this is right. It's how #nostr works. So likes are nothing more than feedback saying you enjoyed something - but only to the author - you're not spreading the gospel of the post with a like. Unless likes are used in some higher layer algorithm to select posts to show to users - but I think hardly any client have anything advanced implemented in that way right now. View quoted note →
