What happened to romantic comedies?
I recently enjoyed Little Italy (thank you for sharing nostr:nprofile1qqsfvfrfyz498hmxsn5w8rczgyr5phu39zm7m35kj2jmchm5fmq76mqpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumrpdejqz9rhwden5te0wfjkccte9ejxzmt4wvhxjmcvad5mn ), which is from 2018.
I remember that genre being everywhere, but last 10-15 years it‘s like love vanished from film and tv.

When so many of the Gen Z'ers bang on about ployamoury and open relationships and all that bollocks, the rom com is 100% gonna die
In the 90s-00s, we had a tv on all the time and there were basically three genres in it - goofy crimi, action in the weekend evenings, and romantic comedies all around.
And this is just a silly thought, but it has this effect on me that even I didn‘t see love around me, the signal was that it‘s out there, so go look for it.
Maybe (and this is a huge maybe), if genz and younger gens received some similar signal, they could benefit from it. I don‘t mean exactly rom coms, but the classic love signal simply isn‘t out there anymore.
Gen X phenomenon.
I miss these
I agree 🤔🫂🫂🫂 so many sequels instead 😭
I highly recommend ‘Love Rosie’, ‘about time’, and ‘while you were sleeping’ 🥹 those films stuck with me
These are old 🫂 but worth a watch
