Nostr has always been about crossing bridges. I've seen it time and time again over the last 3ยฝ years. Features get built or don't as issues arise. From spam to hellthreads to zaps to use cases nobody thought of until they were staring us in the face. Protections got built because they had to be, not because someone planned them in a roadmap meeting.
Developers were always just building. Trying things. Testing things. Not overengineering. Not smoothing out every edge until it actually mattered. (Which is sometimes annoying to users ๐ Wen GIF search?)
I've said it before and I'll say it again: our devs love to fix problems, but they also operate under the mindset of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Don't touch it until there's a real, glaring issue. And that's not laziness. Don't mistake it for that. It's more so discipline.
Everything on Nostr is ultimately an engineering problem. Given enough autism ๐ and enough free will, I think we can solve damn near anything we put our minds to.
The amount of brain power on Nostr is incredible. Keep building.

Nostr is about crossing bridges but not with XMR community because they hurt my feewings and are meanies.
Better to wait for a flood of dicks on everyone's feed, before we try to fix the cockstr problem.
I remember when people would visit a certain user's profile in amethyst and a video on the profile would crash everyone's app and I shared the video saying hey, this crashes my app. Not really thinking that I was going to crash everybody that followed me. It was hilarious.
The flood of dicks came in December 2022 or January 2023. They were everywhere. Everyone was making all sorts of sausage jokes. Some of us even learned a thing or two.
We can solve everything Derek, and you man are leading the nostr charge, thank you ๐ ๐
easier times...
There's nothing that invents a mute feature faster than a stream of penises.
never a dull moment
true that there are v smart people here. butt is it not also true that new ideas, different kinds of smart, are needed to grow nostr?
only for the devs by the devs sounds racist.

Its an old and overused statement but.
We are all on this airplane as its being built.
Some of us are along for the ride and will say 'hey these seats are too small' and someone will try and make bigger seats which may lead to another problem.
Honestly feel privileged to just be here and be able to benefit from some or the smartest people I have ever interacted with.
I don't agree with people on everything, but the end goal is the same for 99% of the people here.
Make the best and most accessible fucking airplane we can, all out in the open for everyone to see.
Every mistake, every mistep. Every argument is making nostr as a protocol more robust for the users who don't know they need to fly yet.
Me admiring the brain power.

Amen to that
