Honestly these guys get hard money and are 80% to being bitcoiners already. They understand the problems with fiat money and why hard money matters. Mining and proof of work were easily digestible concepts.
They just don't know yet about bitcoin being a digital evolution of gold. Gold is great but it has some flaws - not perfectly scarce (we dont know exactly how much gold is in the earth) and not portable. Bitcoin fixes this. Framing it that way got a lot of them onside.
