The huge size difference between a sat & a bitcoin means that you don't need to explicitly define the unit that you're displaying.
No BIP required, it's just common sense.

Yep especially in the case where only lightning is accepted. Ain’t nobody sending 9k bitcoin over lightning. 😂
And what unit do you have your lightning wallet set to?
Mine are all denominated in sats, unlike my cold storage wallets.
