I mean every named Operation with a title was classified. Even minor shit. For all I know, it can all be declassified at this point. I got out of the Army in 2012.
But unlike all these “Former” CIA and Intelligence influencers and so on, I don’t really have an interest in figuring out what is declassed and getting permission for this and that cause I know the game way too well and those folks are part of a game whether they want to be or not.
So I just speak about nothing specific ever. Easiest rule to follow. Honor the Secret Clearance and just live life.
Not that I was ever part of some huge sexy Earth shattering conspiracies or anything.
Loosely, I can say one portion of my job was let’s say writing press releases and news articles for Army website and to AP and Reuters etc that would get picked up by mainstream media (the only existing media back then) and pushed Nationwide.
Well, I’d be writing from say South Iraq and the stories I wrote would be about us building schools and hospitals in a town, let’s say.
Press would come cover it and I’d be their liaison, controlling the narrative via access/no access and other Tradecraft.
I’ll say this: the media would learn we were building and helping said communities, but only the most bold, skeptical and viciously non-stop aggressive true journalists would ever discover an iota of what LED to agreeing to “randomly” build up a town.
(Hint: alleged unintentional collateral damage)
This is a very loose, general example how a portion of my career worked. Glad that shit’s over.
You think you’re saving the world, you think you’re Captain America, then things get muddy…
