kinda like cashu, I installed it on two different apps and started moving money around. I do see the potential there where we own the money, private etc... yet I'm struggling to understand what would make it a real alternative for regular users

for pure btc only, given that you would only have a fraction of pocket money on cashu as mints are centralized, I see complex having money from so many mints even if there is cross mint swaps. but if you add stuff like bringing USDT on cashu then I think it becomes more interesting

i think from privacy perspective having cashu able to exchange USDT equivalent tokens would make it amazing and worth going through the hurdle of having multiple mints.
maybe ... a descentralizad stable coin that can't be blocked could do it... there is Money on Chain on RSK that has Dollar on Chain ... imagine porting those dollars into cashu equivalent... having Money on Chain running a mint...
Ecash can represent any inaginable asset
And they could attack and take down USDT network but it would be quite hard to shut down every mint.
Tether could perfectly run a mint since it’s already centralized stablecoin at least doing ecash mint would allow users to stay private from their view
