I mean, even *he* isn't claiming they literally stole something, and the attribution barely matters. But still.

Their internal models are always better, I don't think they release a model until they have the next model ready so being able to do something that a customer can't isn't a surprise. However, I also suspect they tweak their models to burn more tokens after they've been benchmarked.
