More and More people over the last year or two have been claiming Data Centers dont actually need to use water, and so the question is why are communities being starved of water if its not actually neccessary?

I guess they don't want to pay for a more expensive cooling system
Theres different tactical reasons why the government would allow these businesses to use public limited resources rather than just have the companies cool it down using their own money.
In general driving more revenue into utilities also benefits taxation by government, companies spend less on cooling, and kick backs to specific government officials will be greater. Ive heard multiple reasons why they just dont fix this for the greater community and societal good.
Sounds plausable for USA and the west in general
