We grow about 4 different varieties of tomatoes. Cut out the stem and X the bottom to freeze. When they thaw you lose a lot of excess water and the skins fall off. Then we make a shit ton of Marinara!! #gardenstr #homestead

Curious... Why not process them right away into sauce and water bath them for freezer free preservation? A food mill will easily remove seeds, skins, and stems without freezing or cooking.
It helps preserve them until we are ready to make it. We water bath it after we add all the garlic and spices and simmers for 48 hours!
