Let's break it down: - I open Robosats (P2P exchange) on my phone, i pick an order, i pay, and i get the bitcoin in my LN wallet in less than 5 minutes. - Coinjoins take 3 clicks on Wasabi Wallet, and you only have to do it once. - TOR is already built-in in most wallets/bitcoin apps, even my Nostr client has it, zero effort. - Lightning Network is the payment layer, on-chain is your 'bank'. You only move on-chain UXTOs to open LN channels. Takes me 1 minute to open a LN channel with Zeus Wallet. - It takes 1 click to generate a Taproot address on a wallet, where's the issue here?
The three main issues are You have no idea what/if information is leaking along the way. You're only hiding in the anonset of people that are willing to go through that process. The privacy guarantees that exist are not controlled by the end user. The "privacy" gained in unknown. Probably unknowable unless you are professional CA. As I said elsewhere it is better than doing nothing. However, it is bad privacy. I suggest you come to grips with the fact. LN is not a privacy layer.
you're uncomfortable trusting range proofs to guarantee supply? its not as if it's new fancy math. why would you then be comfortable trusting that Bitcoin is cryptographically secure? although we all have to draw the line somewhere I don't think its logically consistent.

my trust in things is very low, especially software. especially software that is supposed to be the underpinning of all value pushed by humans for the next 1000 years. supply must be transparent. extremely so.
"perfect surveillance is the cost of integrity" I don't think thats going to work out like you hope. but its a valid view. I anticipate people will gradually become more comfortable with placing trust in cryptographic systems. I'm glad we have Bitcoin and Monero. But utxos with different histories are not fungible. And if its not fungible, its not censorship resistant.
I'm not going to get into a debate about what "better money" might mean rn. Its not what we were talking about. Nice chatting ❤️

If you think bitcoin is better money than monero the retarded is you. The biggest point of failure of bitcoin is their own community, that think the weak spots of bitcoin will not be exploited by the system. Transactions are being censored on bitcoin, and there is more to come. Blackrock bitcoin fork is on roadmap, then you will see where the store of value narrative will go. He who laughs last, laughs better...

If you think Monero is worse than Bitcoin as actual money you show you are still a noob. Again you dismiss early Bitcoin adopters that told you to buy some in case it catches on in 2010. Now the same Bitcoin adopters tell you to buy and use Monero as money. It's your ignorance, that complicates your life. I bet even my mother holds more BTC and XMR than 99.9% of self proclaimed Bitcoin maxis here on Nostr. Why? Because she listened to the OGs early on.
