I am struggling with this decision. Are we sure we can't "capture" Blink and make it thrive with a completely open source, privacy-oriented, corporate-free community? I have an eye on Cromite lately: I would like to listen to @fiatjaf opinion on this regard.

Developing and maintaining a browser engine is a huge endeavor requiring a lot of experienced man power. Any fork will just be catching up with Google's version which just has more developer firepower.
#Bromite was a one time great de-googled browser which lacks all the crypto-๐Ÿ’ฉ#Brave comes with. Its great it was revived through the #Cromite fork and hope it continues to be developed. From #Firefox based browsers apparently #Mull is a good one. For desktop #LibreWolf is a nice privacy oriented fork. #TorBrowser is also a hardened Firefox browser. I have no experience with #Mullvad which is unrelated to #Mull browser.
