tether used to be an omni token. it doesn't mean shit if they add another bitcoin adjacent network. nobody will want it. there was never any demand at all for stablecoins outside of EVM networks and solana.

Of course nobody cared about Tether on Omni. Super slow, super expensive, weak ecosystem, limited exchange, technically limited in every important way, and far less useful than Tron. Tether via Taproot on lightning is an entirely different story. The lightning network is not just another network and native taproot is not just another integration. It's the only network that can scale at speed with Tether. Tether volumes are in the insane trillions. Tron is already creaking and cracking. There's more USDT waiting in the wings to flow through the lightning network than there is Bitcoin already flowing through the lightning network. These are big volumes for which the Omni layer would have made no sense versus Tron, but for which the Lightning Network can actually outperform Tron by a serious margin.
